Project Outline
With an international science conference pending, The University of Nottingham’s Biodiscovery Institute needed a film that matched the scale and innovation of their work.
Cue something EPIC, we’re talking dynamic, engaging, and alive.
The goal: a showcase film to capture the facilities, team, and atmosphere in a way that would impress at exhibitions, conferences, and online.
The Challenge
The Institute houses world-class science, but it wasn’t being presented with the same energy. Static marketing couldn’t capture the story behind the cutting-edge research happening inside – we needed something which made the institute’s research and information accessible in an immersive, audiovisual experience.
The challenge was to give stakeholders, partners, and visitors a true sense of the space: the scale, the labs, the people, and to do it with visuals that sparked interest, pride, and conversation.
The Solution
To immerse the audience inside the Institute with a voice-over led cinematic FPV drone journey.
Beginning with high aerials that showed the building’s presence and location on campus, before sweeping inside to showcase everything from the live laboratories to the multi-million pound high-tech equipment.
Real staff were part of the story, participating in scenes to show their work taking place, with real rooms in action - from cryogenics to synthetic chemistry and dangerous nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) theatres – the FPV drone braved it all.
The project was designed to bring the Institute to life, whether on a big exhibition screen, in a stakeholder meeting, or on social media.
The result
A professional video asset, crafted to highlight the Institute’s facilities with clarity and impact.
The hero showcase film provided a cinematic centrepiece for presentations and events.
For the Biodiscovery Institute, this wasn’t just a promo, it was a marketing asset that elevated their image, captured the imagination of stakeholders, and showcased their cutting-edge work with the storytelling, scale and energy it deserved.
